In this class you will learn how drugs affect the body, how they alter disease processes and how they might produce toxicity. We will discuss how new drugs are tested and developed prior to them being used for patient care. We will describe how personalization of medicine will become a common day reality in patient care.
The teacher has a professional manner, she is precise about what is required so there is no doubt about the concepts to be learned. Lectures are well structured, clear and uncluttered. They are not divided up into mini-lectures or include quiz questions, so they are quite long. A weekly quiz tests on understanding basic concepts. There is an opportunity to retry the test, which I found helpful in the learning process.
Taking this course helped me gain more understanding of other Health Sciences courses and was a sound basic introduction to pharmacology.
